Bengal Cat: Wild Look, Tame Heart
What Makes Bengals Special
Bengals are a hybrid breed created by crossing domestic cats with Asian leopard cats. Their distinctive spotted or marbled coat gives them a wild appearance, but they're fully domestic in temperament.
Energy Level: Very High
Bengals are among the most active cat breeds. They need daily vigorous play, climbing structures, and mental stimulation. A bored Bengal will find their own entertainment — often destructively.
Channeling Energy Positively
- Cat wheels for running (many Bengals love them)
- Agility training and obstacle courses
- Water play — many Bengals enjoy water and playing in sinks
- Interactive puzzle feeders
- Leash training for supervised outdoor adventures
Social Needs
Bengals are highly social and vocal. They bond strongly with their human and can become anxious when left alone for long periods.
